Visitors who stop are always impressed by the waterfall in the river Jørpelandselva in Strand in Ryfylke.
Follow Dalavegen road at Jørpeland. This “little” waterfall drops about 20 m, with a four-metre free fall. Just above the waterfall, which is regulated, with water being used for power production, lies Stemmen, a popular swimming area.
In 2004, fishermen caught more than 200 kg of salmon in Jørpelandselva. Parking near the falls is very limited, but you can park at Jørpelands Brug by the harbour in Jørpeland, and follow the 15-minute trail.
